Milliman is among the world’s largest providers of actuarial and related products and services. The firm has consulting practices in life insurance and financial services, property and casualty insurance, healthcare and employee benefits.
Their Health Practice Internal Forum brings together over 1000 employees globally to discuss latest developments within the business and develop inter office relationships.
With restrictions on travel limiting all internal meetings and forums, the team at Milliman had been relying on Microsoft Teams. While stable for everyday uses, it simply wasn’t cut out for the scale and complexity of the event. The conference experience isn’t an interactive one, let alone one capable of hosting 85 multi-speaker sessions running concurrently across several time zones.
The Podium Solution
Podium provided end-to-end event management of the Forum for Milliman, acting as an extension of their internal team to relieve pressure on them.
The event setup included training 230 speakers, sourcing and implementing a stable and interactive platform, and ensuring that the 12 concurrent streams of speakers ran successfully over the 4 days.
By providing in-depth and informative pre-event communications to all participants, Podium could ensure Milliman had no issues on the day. Attendees could access their sessions easily and could see the engagement and interactions in real time.
- Milliman brought together over 1000 employees from the Health Practice to share content and conversation.
- The Podium team were able to operate as an extension of the Milliman internal planning committee, becoming the point of contact for speakers and attendees alike and allowing the Milliman team to feel confident in delivering an ambitious agenda.
